Answers to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Attire: Attire for this pageant is Denim Pants and a White, Red or Pink shirt. Pants can be customized with ruffles, ribbons, stones etc if you choose. So can the shirt. This is the attire for ALL divisions.

Hair and Makeup: We are not a glitz pageant. Professional hair and makeup is not required. Please come completely dressed and ready to go on stage. There will be a bathroom available for minor touch ups but please arrive at the Doug Tew Community Center completely ready in your pageant attire with hair and makeup finished!

Photogenic: We WILL NOT be having a photogenic category at this pageant so you will not need to bring one with you the day of.

Competition Details: We are not a glitz pageant so coaches standing behind the judges doing routines as their contestant is onstage is NOT accepted and points will be deducted for this! Contestants will do a walk of choice to upbeat music. Model like you are in a fashion show! :) Contestants in the Baby Miss and Tiny Miss Division must have an adult on stage with them at all times.

Competition begins at 2pm for the following divisions:

*Check in for Baby Miss-Petite Miss Divisions begins at 1pm. Please do not arrive before 1pm!*

Competition begins at 3pm for the following divisions:
Junior Miss
Teen Miss
Miss
Mrs

*Check in for Junior Miss - Mrs Divisions is at 2pm. Please do not arrive to check in before 2pm if you are in the Junior Miss - Mrs divisions!*

Crowning for ALL divisions is at 5pm. Contestants can leave after they are done competing and come back for the 5pm crowning if they choose.

Judging: Contestants will be judged on Overall Appearance, Stage Presence and Personality.

Queen of Hearts title: All of our pageants are "Pageants with a Purpose" and we love to teach our girls the importance of giving back to the community. Each contestant is required to bring in a minimum of 10 canned food items. The one contestant that brings in the most canned food items will be awarded our Queen of Hearts title. She will receive a rhinestone crown, monogrammed sash and entry fee paid to the 2010 Alabama's Miss Heart of America Pageant. All of the food will be donated to an organization in Houston County.

Viewers Choice: This title is voted on by the audience. Each vote is $1.00 and the contestant with the most votes wins! She will receive a rhinestone crown, monogrammed sash and entry fee paid to the 2010 Alabama's Miss Heart of America Pageant.

Ambassador: Each contestant is given the opportunity to sell sponsor tickets. Each ticket sold is entered into a drawing for a $100.00 Mary Kay Gift Certificate. The contestant that sells the most tickets is awarded this title. She will receive a rhinestone crown, monogrammed sash and entry fee paid to the 2010 Alabama's Miss Heart of America Pageant. Tickets and money collected are to be turned in at registration in a envelope labeled with your name, division and total number of tickets sold.

Winners in each division will receive a rhinestone crown, monogrammed Miss Heart of America City Queen sash, rhinestone pin and entry fee paid to the Alabama's Miss Heart of America Pageant that will be held November 13th in Birmingham, Alabama.

We will also award a first and second runner up in each division.

Each person entering the Community Center (except for the contestant) is required to purchase an armband. These armbands are $5.00 each.

*You must register based on your age as of January 1st, 2010.
*2009 Miss Heart of Alabama State Queens are not eligible to compete.
*Reigning 2010 City and County Queens with the Alabama's Miss Heart of America Pageant are not eligible to compete.
*Contestants must reside in Alabama.

You understand that EVERYONE in your party including the contestant is to be a good sport at all times and that Nicholas Taylor INC reserves the right to rescind any title and refuse entry to any event due to bad sportsmanship or negative behavior/actions by any titleholder or anyone in their party. You understand that the pageant entry fee is non refundable and will not be transferred to another pageant held by the Miss Heart of America Pageant Program should you not be able to attend. You agree to abide by all rules and guidelines and show respect to your fellow contestants and our staff. You also confirm that the contestant registering resides in Alabama and IS NOT currently a reigning Alabama State Queen or 2010 COUNTY/CITY Queen with the Miss Heart of America Pageant Program.
